About the Anti-Metal NFC Tag
Standard NFC tags stop working, or read very poorly, when stuck directly onto metal — the metal detunes the antenna. This tag has a ferrite absorber layer between the chip's antenna and the metal surface, which shields the coil and keeps the read range consistent. It's built for equipment tagging, asset registers, and industrial environments where the mounting surface is almost always metal.

Common Use Cases
Frequently Asked Questions
Will this work on any metal surface?
Yes — steel, aluminium, and most metal enclosures. The ferrite layer is specifically designed to counter metal detuning.
What's the read range on metal?
Typically 1–4cm depending on phone model, comparable to a standard tag on a non-metal surface.
Can I use this outdoors?
The PVC laminate is weather-resistant for general outdoor use; for harsh/prolonged exposure, ask us about our ruggedised variants.
Is it rewritable?
Yes, the NFC chip can be reprogrammed as many times as needed using any NFC-capable phone and our free programmer tool.
